Michigan Football: Key target gets crystal balls, others schedule visits

In regards to some top targets in the 2022 recruiting class, Michigan football has gotten some good news over the past couple of days.

The Wolverines have six recruits committed right now in the 2022 class, including five-star cornerback Will Johnson, but there is a lot more work to do.

With the recruiting dead period being lifted on June 1st, Michigan football is working hard to get as many of its top targets to visit as possible.

One recruit who still hadn’t set up his official visit was three-star cornerback Myles Pollard. To be fair, he did take a self-guided visit earlier this offseason, so maybe there wasn’t as much urgency.

But with him scheduling visits to Kentucky and Oklahoma, locking him in for a visit in June was key and Michigan football has now done that as Pollard tweeted Monday.

Soon after setting up his official visit, Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider talked to Daryl Graham, a coach of Pollard’s, and here’s what he said about Michigan’s chances:

"“I think they’re in a pretty good spot. I think Michigan is obviously, (along) with Kentucky and Oklahoma, high on his list. I think the official visits are what’s going to separate everybody."

Pollard is ranked as a three-star recruit according to the 247 sports composite rankings, but he’s a four-star recruit according to Rivals, which also has an expert, EJ Holland, projecting him to U-M.

There are no crystal ball projections right now for Pollard. He’s 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, and ranked in the top 500 overall.

Another cornerback Michigan football is targeting in the 2022 class is four-star Jaeden Gould and he told Brice Marich of the Michigan Insider he will also be visiting Ann Arbor again soon.

Gould is ranked 144th overall and all four of his crystal ball picks have him going to the Wolverines.

More crystal ball picks for Michigan

Speaking of crystal ball projections, the Wolverines got more in their favor on Tuesday with regards to four-star wide receiver Tyler Morris.

Morris played with J.J. McCarthy in high school before McCarthy went to IMG Academy and the Wolverines have long been the favorite. Yet, it was still noteworthy when more picks came in from Josh Newkirk and Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider.

It’s always a big deal when Webb puts in a pick for a recruit, so U-M fans can feel confident in landing Morris now, although Notre Dame and others are pushing hard, meaning it’s probably not a done deal just yet.
