Eli Brooks

The return of Eli Brooks would be huge for the Wolverines. For one, teams with veteran guards always seem to do well in the NCAA Tournament.

Beyond that, Brooks is a true combo guard. He can play the point, he can start at the two and he can really do both interchangeably.

It was really impressive watching Brooks play the point against LSU. That doesn’t mean you want him as your starting point guard, but if he was to play alongside Frankie Collins or Zeb Jackson, he could be a veteran presence and also spell them when needed.

There’s no question the Wolverines would love to have him back just for what he brings defensively. He averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists. He was also a 39-percent 3-point shooter.

One thing about Brooks is that he’s already said he is considering it.

"“I talked about it with my family and weighed the different options, but I didn’t come to a conclusion.”"

While it’s certainly possible that Brooks can pursue a professional career playing hoops, it’s not likely coming in the NBA. At the very least, he would have a long way to go in order to make that happen, so maybe he could be enticed to run it back for one more year.
