The season as well as the future is a thriving success.

When all is accounted for the 2020-21 season is a prosperous one. Michigan was predicted to be in the middle of the pack of the Big Ten. The Wolverines overachieved by a mile in that circumstance. Winning the outright Big Ten championship in Juwan Howard’s second year is an extraordinary accomplishment that no one saw coming.

The questions now surround who will return for next season or not. Mike Smith and Chaundee Brown have a year left of eligibility if so inclined. As far as Dickinson and Wagner go, it would be a revelation if one or both came back with where they fall as NBA prospects. The loss of Isaiah Livers and Eli Brooks may not be felt until next season officially rolls around.

With loss comes a gain of shiny new talent though. Moussa Diabate and Caleb Houstan are two of the most promising, highly anticipated freshman to step onto campus since arguably Mitch McGary. Add in Frankie Collins, Kobe Bufkin, Isaiah Barnes, and a surprise return or two and this group will unquestionably be right back in the driver’s seat to be in the exact same spot one year from now, if not even hoisting a national championship trophy.
