Nico Collins

One guy who really needed to perform well during the draft process was Nico Collins, especially after he opted out of the 2020 season.

Collins did tell reporters this week that he was interested in returning to Michigan football once the Big Ten opened up play again, but that due to an advance he took from his agent, he couldn’t.

So it’s not like Collins didn’t want to play this season. He did and the former Wolverine was dynamic at the Senior Bowl, which helped NFL teams forget a little about him not playing in 2020.

The lack of college production could hurt Collins a little bit, however, he did enough to show he can be a solid deep threat, and Friday, he measured at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds. He also ran a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash and had an impressive broad jump too.

Collins was already a good bet to be a second or third-round pick, but that 40 time could give him a chance to be a top-50 pick, especially as there are a number of wide receiver needy teams in the second round waiting to pounce.
