Chaundee Brown finally shows up

Chaundee Brown has waited for his entire career to make it to the NCAA Tournament and now, as a Michigan basketball player, he can reach the Sweet 16.

In his first tournament game though, he didn’t contribute much. Brown didn’t score and committed three fouls. And against LSU, that kind of effort won’t cut it.

The Tigers aren’t a 16 seed. They are a very talented team. LSU is flawed defensively but seems to be figuring it out at the right time and in terms of individual talent, they are right there with U-M.

Brandon Johns will likely start tonight and Michigan will surely try to pound it inside to him too, as well as Austin Davis.

But this would also be a great time to get Brown some time at the three or four, alongside Wagner, Eli Brooks, Mike Smith and Dickinson. Those are the Wolverines five best players and this is a perfect opportunity to play them together.

Michigan is going to need Brown, both for his shooting ability and defense. At some point, it feels like the Wolverines are going to have to play small.

Brown also seems due for a big game in the NCAA Tournament and in the end, his defense and 3-point shot will be critical if Michigan wants to advance.
