Conclusion

I think this game is a tough matchup for the Wolverines without Isaiah Livers. With Livers, Michigan basketball could keep LSU out of the paint more easily as they attack from the wings and inside most often, but also have the quickness and length to hold down the great shooters LSU has in Darius Days and Javonte Smart.

Brandon Johns will be a major key on Monday. If he can knock down a shot or two, stay out of early foul trouble, and play defense like he is capable of doing, Michigan should come out victorious.

LSU is a No. 8 seed for a reason. The Tigers have dropped games this year to non-tournament teams like Saint Louis and Georgia, but have also pushed teams like 2 seed Alabama to the brink.

If LSU shoots the lights out and plays its best, it can absolutely knock off the Wolverines early. However, Michigan at its best, even without Isaiah Livers, can exploit LSU’s flaws and remind the entire country why this team earned its 1 seed.

I see LSU jumping out to an early lead, possibly even taking a lead to halftime, but Michigan will come out of halftime on one of their patented runs and won’t look back from there. Franz Wagner bounces back and Hunter Dickinson puts his stamp on this game with a 20 point double-double.
