Raheem Anderson

Another guy who actually has a great chance to start as a true freshman isn’t even ranked in the top 200 and that’s four-star center Raheem Anderson.

Yet, just because Anderson is ranked as the No. 208 prospect in the nation doesn’t mean he’s not elite at his position. Among centers, the 6-foot-3, 298-pounder is ranked as the third-best center in the entire 2021 class.

Here’s part of his scouting report from 247 sports:

"“More than sound in pass protection. Also has the quickness and leverage to be strong in the run game. Needs to improve testing numbers and continue to get more explosive. Very good football player though who is as consistent and reliable as it gets and should be a reliable multi-year starter in college.”"

He’s definitely the best center prospect Michigan football has recruited since Cesar Ruiz and the most ready to play right away. What will help matters is that the only other real threat to start at center is Reece Atteberry.

Atteberry was recruited as a tackle but has moved inside and has elite size at 6-foot-5 for a center, sort of like Ruiz.

But Anderson is the real deal. He will be Michigan’s starting center someday and like Ruiz, it wouldn’t be shocking if he found his way on the field as a freshman, even if it’s not at center — because he’s that good.
