WR’s: Ronnie Bell, Cornelius Johnson and Roman Wilson; Xavier Worthy, Giles Jackson, A.J. Henning, Christian Dixon and Andrel Anthony

The wide receiver position left a lot to be desired in 2020 but there were some bright spots. Ronnie Bell had a solid year and went over 400 yards receiving in six games. He should be the top option next season yet does his best work in the slot.

On the outside, Cornelius Johnson caught 16 passes for 254 yards. That’s something to build on and even though he grabbed just nine passes as a freshman, Roman Wilson can be a home-run threat.

Those are going to be the top options, but I still expect some of the freshman to make an impact, especially Xavier Worthy.

I know that he’s not enrolling early and that hurts his chances of playing right away, but who cares if he doesn’t know the whole system? This kid can absolutely fly and he has ability that no other receiver on this Michigan football roster has.

Josh Gattis and company have got to find a way to take advantage of that. Ron Bellamy coaching receivers will help too and that should allow Gattis to focus on the offensive operation as a whole.

Michigan does need more guys on the outside. The Wolverines need the big body who will go over the middle and I think Christian Dixon can help fill that role. It might be more limited as a freshman and don’t count out A.J. Henning. He’s a former top-100 recruit too.

TE: Erick All, Luke Schoonmaker and Louis Hansen

Erick All was supposed to have a breakout season in 2020, however, it never came to fruition. He only ended up catching eight passes for 64 yards and he had a terrible case of the drops.

If he gets over that, All can still be a special player. His blocking has improved a lot since he arrived on campus and before he came down the drops, which like the yips in golf, are usually mental, he was known as having some of the best hands on the team.

But if All continues to struggle, watch out for Louis Hansen, a four-star tight end that Rivals ranked as a top-100 prospect in the class of 2021.

Of all the recruits Michigan signed in 2021, he’s probably the most talented player that gets talked about the least. He’s 6-foot-5, 240 pounds and he can move. Hansen is also a willing blocker but he’s a guy who can play in-line, split out wide or in the slot.

It’s going to be exciting to see how the staff uses him and don’t sleep on him next season.
