This group is gaining championship steam

It is only January, but it feels like they are already prepared for a deep run into April. They have all the tools that are needed for it too.

Although the schedule is going to get tougher, the Wolverines are making their case to be one of the upper echelon teams to beat when tournament ramps up in two months.

Trips to Minnesota and Purdue are sandwiched in between a home tilt with Maryland coming up. We’ve all seen what those three schools are capable of, so there will be no tolerance for a letdown if Howard’s boys want to go through the first month of the new year unscathed.

Michigan basketball has had Minnesota’s number in the barn in Minneapolis as of late, so nothing should be taken for granted once Saturday afternoon rolls around.

Once February hits it will be like playing a top 25 matchup pretty much every time out. It will give us a better understanding as to what can be expected of this crew for crunch time.

So far they have passed the test with outright flying colors, but adversity will hit and how the Wolverines strike back will tell us how far then can take this dream ride.
