Michigan Basketball: 3 Keys to Wolverines beating Wisconsin
Keeping Dickinson out of foul trouble
Michigan is a really talented team and honestly, 1-6 I think they are as good as any team in the Big Ten. But the depth is a little weak right now especially with Austin Davis still out.
It does sound like Davis is getting closer to coming back, but I highly doubt he would be ready for this game and that means, as usual, it’s imperative for Dickinson to avoid foul trouble.
Not only does the Wolverines offense run much smoother with Dickinson on the floor, but without him, either Brandon Johns (6-foot-9) or Terrance Williams (6-foot-7) would be logging heavy minutes at center and against Wisconsin, that’s a tall order.
Johns has been playing better though, so he could potentially shine especially if he makes an early trey in his rotation. He will see minutes either way, but Dickinson is just so important that he can’t allow Potter, an experienced player who shoots 3.2 foul shots per game, to draw fouls on him.
At least not to the point where he has to sit for long stretches. Michigan basketball has been able to avoid that scenario this season and hopefully, it can Tuesday night too.
