Contain Wisconsin’s shooters

While Michigan is one of the best 2-point teams in the country, Greg Gard’s Wisconsin team specializes in the 3-point shot and boy are the Badgers dangerous from deep.

For the season, Wisconsin is shooting 41 percent from beyond the arc, which is 5th in the NCAA and its senior-laden lineup is filled with guys that can shoot at literally every position. Their spacing and ball movement is a nightmare.

Wisconsin starts five seniors and all of them shoot at least 35 percent from 3-point range with at least 0.9 (basically) one made three per game.

It will be interesting to see if Michigan uses a man defense and tries to chase Wisconsin off the 3-point line as it did so successfully against Minnesota. The problem with that is Dickinson will be constantly defending a big who can shoot which could put him in some tough spots.

In conference play, Wisconsin is making 7.6 3-pointers a game and allowing 7.4 to opponents, so if Michigan can basically keeps things even from beyond the arc, which isn’t a given considering U-M is 12th in 3-point percentage defense in the Big Ten, it should be able to win the game.
