Win-win

It took a long time to get here, way too long in fact, but if this contract is signed by Harbaugh, it’s something I think is a pretty clear win for both sides.

Yes, Harbaugh has to take a pay cut but he said he wanted to bet on himself and he’s doing that with this deal. He still gets compensated at a very high level and if he’s able to deliver the goods for Michigan football, he will get the elite money he would deserve.

It also makes sense for Michigan football. It would have been risky to fire Harbaugh after one bad year, during a pandemic and it would have been costly too.

Now, Harbaugh will get a chance to see what he can with a five-star quarterback and the best offensive recruiting class Michigan football has had in decades.

Changes are being made though, as Don Brown was let go earlier this offseason and now, the final piece to this puzzle is filling out the staff, which will be a critical part of this attempted reload.

But if Harbaugh still doesn’t turn things around, it will be much easier to move on from him and that’s important too.
