Chaundee Brown is the real deal
Coming into this season, Chaundee Brown was projected to be a high energy player and a lockdown defender. He has been exactly that. But what many people didn’t realize we were getting was a player who provides instant offense off the bench and who is an efficient shooter.
Brown has been incredible this season. He’s shooting 43% from three and you can argue he has been Michigan’s best defender. He has embraced his role as a three-and-D player and has thrived in this Juwan Howard system.
One thing you have to credit him for is his leadership. The coaches have raved about it and even as a fan it’s evident. He is playing less minutes than his last two seasons at Wake Forest yet is producing on both sides of the ball and has emerged as one of the team’s best leaders.
As the team’s sixth man, Brown is only playing in about 20 minutes per game. But he is making those minutes count. This season he’s averaging 10 points and four rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the filed.
Brown also gives Juwan the flexibility the play less guys due to him being able to play multiple positions. As the season goes on, I expect Brown’s role on this team continue to expand. He has earned more minutes and I think he will be rewarded soon.
