Michigan basketball has started their season 7-0 (2-0) and is in great position heading into their game against Maryland on New Year’s Eve.

It’s hard to find too many complaints when you have a chance to head into the new year undefeated and in first place in the Big Ten. Along with so many other Big Ten teams, 16th ranked Michigan basketball finds themselves inside the AP Top 25 and on a roll.

The Wolverines are getting big contributions from Isaiah Livers and Franz Wagner while true freshman big man Hunter Dickinson is enjoying a breakout season.

With so many newcomers on this team to start this season, there were quite a few question marks for this Michigan basketball team. How were they going to replace the leadership of Teske and Simpson? Is Hunter Dickinson ready to play big minutes? Are the transfers going to fit into the new system?

Now that we are seven games into the new season, most of these questions have already been answered. Michigan has gotten better as the season has gone on after a couple shaky efforts to start the season against bad competition. But picking up two conference wins early has Michigan in a great position to start to play their best basketball and go on a run.

Here are my five big takeaways from Michigan’s 7-0 start.
