Transfers continue to shine

One of the big questions going into Big Ten play for the Wolverines was how would the two transfers, Mike Smith and Chaundee Brown hold up?

The two players had a bunch of success in the five game non-conference schedule but all of those games came against mid-major opponents.

But now that we have seen Mike Smith in two games, I think it’s safe to say that he’s not going to have a huge drop off in conference play.

Against Nebraska, Smith had 10 points, six assists and four rebounds. He has proven to be a tremendous replacement for Zavier Simpson. He’s not quite the playmaker Simpson was but he is a better shooter and he made two big triples Friday night. Three turnovers per game is a little high but for the most part, Smith has been a plus.

Brown also continued to build his case for Sixth Man of the Year in the Big Ten. He helped turn the game around in the first half and finished with 13 points and five rebounds in 16 minutes.

The Wake Forest transfer is versatile, has shot extremely well from beyond the arc and is a really good defender.
