Michigan Basketball: How to watch Wolverines vs Nebraska
After nearly a two week layoff, Michigan basketball will be back in action Friday on Christmas Day in Nebraska and here’s how you can watch the Wolverines.
When Michigan basketball takes the floor against Nebraska on Christmas Day, it will be the Wolverines first game in 12 days.
It’s a weird quirk in the Big Ten schedule for Michigan basketball, which is actually supposed to play on New Year’s Day eve too against Maryland.
Then, Michigan also plays Northwestern on Jan. 3 and Minnesota on Jan. 6 at home, meaning the Wolverines will play four games in the next 12 days after playing zero games in the last 12.
That makes a lot of sense.
But the schedule it what it is and on tap for Michigan is a Nebraska team that’s currently 4-4 under second-year head coach Fred Hoiberg.
Hoiberg has always loved bringing in transfers. He did that a bunch at Iowa State and it’s continued at Nebraska as more than half the roster is new to the program this season.
All of Nebraska’s win have come over mid-major programs, with North Dakota State probably being the best. The Huskers have also lost to Georgia Tech, Creighton and Wisconsin — all by double digits. The other loss to Nevada was by three.

As with Michigan, this will be Nebraska’s second game in conference play, but it will be the only meeting between the Wolverines and Huskers during the regular season after the program played twice a year ago, with U-M winning the two games by an average of 17.5 points.
Pinnacle Bank Arena is always a tough place to play for opponents, but that’s obviously been different with fans being unable to attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
So even though it’s a road game for Michigan basketball, the Wolverines don’t have to worry about playing in what was one of the tougher environments in the Big Ten.
The Wolverines come in ranked 16th in the Kenpom rankings, while Nebraska is ranked as the 116th-best team. Teddy Allen and Dalano Banton are the Huskers two leading scorers and each is a transfer playing in his first season for NU.
Nebraska does a ton of its work offensively behind the 3-point line as six players average at least one make per game and five average at least 1.4 makes per game. So defending the 3-point line and taking advantage of a lackluster Nebraska defense, especially inside, will be key.
We’ll have more on this matchup with predictions later, but here’s all the info you need to watch, listen and stream.
