Michigan Basketball: 3 Predictions for Wolverines against Toledo
Dickinson will have another strong outing
Like many mid-major programs, Toledo doesn’t have a ton of size inside and making matters worse for the Rockets is they are dealing with injury issues at center.
That means that there is no one who will be able to guard Hunter Dickinson inside and the 7-foot-1 freshman should have a field day. So far this season, he has been averaging 14 points a game and making 75 percent of his shots from the field on top of grabbing 7.5 boards per game.
Even if Dickinson doesn’t start the game, Austin Davis, who is a solid low-post scorer, should be able to establish that presence and get the ball inside. But when Dickinson (most likely comes off the bench) Michigan should run its offense through him.
He has continuously provided a spark this season and against mid-major competition at least, has been elite at finishing around the bucket. Plus, we know what kind of passer he is, which will lead to some open looks too.
The Rockets are allowing opponents to shoot just 25 percent from deep this season but are allowing better than 50 percent on 2-point attempts and U-M should take advantage inside.
