A strong start

A big key in this game is going to be play of point guard Mike Smith. UCF is going to try and force turnovers, but they are mostly a man team and Smith will be key to counter-attacking that pressure.

Outside of the game against Oakland, which was poor for just about everyone not named Hunter Dickinson, Smith has been in control and made really good decisions with the basketball and early on, I expect the execution to be strong.

The Wolverines clearly weren’t prepared for the Oakland game, but they have been pretty sharp in their other two games and I think this will follow a similar pattern.

The Knights are a solid defensive team, however, they aren’t a good shooting club, making just 36 percent of their attempts against Auburn and only 27 percent from deep.

Obviously, one game is a small sample size, but those misses can turn into transition buckets and that’s where Franz Wagner has been at his best this season. I think he will make a shot early and Smith will help get the offense into a rhythm.
