Michigan Football: 3 Takeaways from a pathetic loss to Penn State
By Nick Popio
The defense posted another disgraceful performance
Don Brown’s days are numbered as the defensive coordinator for Michigan football without question. His guys put in another lousy effort against a group who hadn’t won a single game coming into today. Penn State ran the ball at will with their quarterbacks and two true freshman running backs.
Lots of missed tackles cursed Michigan football’s defense when it had to have stops on some crucial Penn State drives.
The rush defense was gashed for far too many big gainers that put the defense in poor positions time after time. By the end of that loss the Nittany Lions strolled over the Wolverines to a smooth 266 yards on the ground.
Keyvone Lee and Sean Clifford combined for over 200 by themselves. It’s quite an embarrassment when a freshman who only sees the field because of things that are out of his control to come into the Big House and have a career day like that.
This defense is out of excuses and must take blame for their shameful showing this weekend.
