Round 6 of Harbaugh vs Franklin

There’s no doubt that Harbaugh and Franklin are under some pressure right now. Of course, Franklin has a little more job security thanks to his Big Ten championship and multiple 11-win seasons, still, winless seasons are hard to recover from.

One thing that would certainly help Franklin save some face this season is knocking off Harbaugh and Michigan for his first win. As bad as a loss to Rutgers would have been, losing at home to a winless team would be a bad look for the Wolverines too.

Last week, Michigan staved off disaster and now it has a chance to turn things around this season, sort of, by winning this week against Penn State and next week against Maryland.

That would at least put the Wolverines at 4-3 going into the Ohio State game and that would feel like a completely different conversation than if Michigan is 3-4 or 2-5.

We know the Wolverines aren’t likely to beat Ohio State, but three of the next four are winnable and if Harbaugh can beat Franklin, he will at least have won four of six against his rival.
