How motivated will Michigan be?

This Michigan team hasn’t quit and guys are playing hard, but the last three weeks, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan State have all played with a greater sense of urgency.

Rutgers is going to be fired up for this game. Beating Michigan State was a big deal but coach Greg Schiano would love to beat Michigan football. Not only are the Wolverines a big name still, they also recruit a lot in New Jersey, so there is that aspect as well.

The Scarlet Knights will be plenty motivated for this one and if Michigan just expects to show up and get handed a victory, it could make for a tough night and possibly only the second loss to Rutgers since it joined the Big Ten.

Either way, this game feels like it’s going to be a turning point.

If Michigan can win and get some momentum, then maybe it can close with a few wins and have something positive heading into next season. But a loss would only continue the negative trend and a lackadaisical effort would really show that maybe Harbaugh has lost the team.
