3. Play with confidence
In the last two games, the Wolverines have got punched in the mouth and they have fallen flat. They have looked uninspired and lacked any real confidence out there. You can see it with the hanging of heads and the excitement or lack thereof.
They aren’t playing to win the game, it has looked like they have been trying not to screw up. That is not how you can win games. If you are worried about screwing up, it gets into your head and you aren’t going to play well.
The Wolverines need to come out with confidence and play that way. Believe that they can win the game and then go out and have fun doing it. If they continue to play lifeless football, they won’t win another game all year.
It can be tough without any fans and especially in a place that can be loud like the Big House (yes not as loud as it could be, but still loud). A night game is still a special at Michigan, and even without fans, the Wolverines need to feed off of being a prime time national game.
They did it against Minnesota and they need to find it again. They don’t have much to lose now, so go out and play with that swagger and confidence and take it to them. The Wolverines have enough talent to win this game. In fact, they have enough talent to win the rest of their games, yes even Ohio State.
It doesn’t mean they will, but playing with belief and it is amazing what can happen. That has been missing from the last two games and if they can’t find it, then it doesn’t matter what the game plan is.
