Collin Wilder

Season Stats: 4 Tackles

Wilder actually led his team in tackles against Illinois but the area of his game I would like to focus on is his coverage skills. The senior safety allowed only one reception for nine yards on 21 coverage snaps in the opener.

An important piece of Wilder’s makeup is his leadership. Having a senior on the back end of your defense in a season like this one marred by COVID is invaluable. Wilder forms a dynamic veteran duo at the safety position with fellow senior safety Eric Burrell.

Stretching the defense will be tough against the Badgers considering their talent and experience in their defensive backfield.

The Wolverines could try to get the football to its playmakers out on the edge so they can work sideline-to-sideline instead of taking shots deep over the middle in an effort to avoid the lurking ball hawks the Badgers will deploy at safety.
