Defense: F

It’s pretty hard to give Don Brown’s defense anything but a failing grade. The Wolverines were torched in the passing game for the second straight week as Penix Jr. threw for over 300 yards and also tossed three touchdowns.

That’s two weeks in a row that Michigan State and Indiana have thrown for over 300 yards against U-M and as I said before, Michigan didn’t notch a single sack, which is also the second straight week that happened.

If that was against Ohio State, you could understand, but if your defensive lineman can’t even beat Indiana and Michigan State, you have some serious issues.

The other problem is that Michigan played just two cornerbacks against Indiana. It was Vincent Gray and Gemon Green all day, regardless of how many big plays they allowed.

Makari Paige also played at safety, bumping Daxton Hill down to nickel, but it’s pretty staggering to see the coaches do nothing as the same players get beat over and over again.

The run defense wasn’t bad and allowed just 3.1 yards per attempt, however, the pass defense was so bad it didn’t matter as U-M allowed 460 yards and 38 points.

Michigan also didn’t force a turnover in the second straight game.
