5 Things we learned from another Michigan Football debacle
The lack of running game is embarrassing
There were injury issues on the offensive line, which forced some younger guys into the lineup and actually, I was excited for that, because I honestly thought it could help.
Nope. Instead, Michigan’s running game went from bad to worse. In fact, it was just embarrassing as the Wolverines managed 13 yards on 18 carries. And no, that’s not an error.
For the third straight game, not a single running back carried the ball 10 times. Zach Charbonnet had one carry for four yards. Hassan Haskins ran six times for 19. There is no rhyme or reason for any of it and frankly, Josh Gattis looks totally overwhelmed.
The new offensive lineman did too. The interior running game, at this point, is lucky to get back to the line of scrimmage. And this was against a team that allowed 4.4 yards per attempt to Rutgers and Michigan State prior to this.
Of all the things that happened Saturday, the inability of Michigan to run the football, at all, was the most shocking.
