Milton/receivers are finally able to get deep

One thing that really hurt Michigan against Michigan State was a lack of explosive plays. Whether it was running the ball or throwing the ball, Michigan needed more chunk plays and that’s something U-M needs to create Saturday.

The Hoosiers pass defense is pretty solid and through two games, they have intercepted five passes and are allowing just 182 yards per game passing.

But the advantage I expect Michigan to get on the ground will be the key. That and the RPO’s the Wolverines are going to run with Milton will force the defense to load the box and will open up some things in the passing game.

Much like the first game, I don’t think Milton will throw the ball more than 20-25 times and as a Micihgan fan, that’s the ideal number because that will mean a solid rushing attack.

Last week, throwing 51 times was too many and it just wasn’t an efficient performance for the offense. All day, Michigan was in second and third and long.

This week, that won’t happen and thanks to some play-action passes, guys like Roman Wilson, A.J. Henning or Giles Jackson will get deep and I’d expect at least one home run ball to connect.
