5 Bold predictions for Michigan Football against Indiana
Don Brown has a good day
Win or lose this game, you would expect Michigan football to come out swinging in this one, exactly the way the Spartans did a week ago.
That’s the kind of attitude the Wolverines should have coming into this matchup and Michigan needs to do what it does well. For all his faults, Don Brown is a guy that likes to be aggressive and I think we will see that Saturday.
I’m not saying Brown should all-out blitz, but I think Michigan football will ramp up the pressure and they are going to try and set the tone by hitting the quarterback. The biggest assist here will be the run defense, which actually was better last week than against Minnesota.
The Hoosiers have the worst rushing offense in the Big Ten through two games and they are also the worst in the league at third-down conversion rate.
So if Michigan can hold up against Stevie Scott and force Indiana into third and long, it will make things easier on the pass rush and you expect some heavy pressure packages from Brown.
Over the years, that kind of aggressiveness hasn’t always paid off, but it has against the Indiana’s of the world and while the Hoosiers are much more talented than in the past, it’s still a good formula for the Wolverines.
And a week after barely hitting the quarterback, that changes in a big way as Michigan gets closer to the five sacks it had in the first game against Minnesota.
