Michigan football gets back on the field Saturday and here are five bold predictions for the Wolverines against Indiana.

It’s been a long week for the Michigan football team and its fans, but soon the Wolverines will be back on the field with a chance to erase the awful memories of Michigan State.

That loss is going to hurt for a long time and the Spartans will have those bragging rights for the next year. But it doesn’t have to be the defining point of Michigan football’s season. There are six games left and starting with Indiana, there is more than enough time to turn it around.

It all starts with a win Saturday morning against the Hoosiers. As long as Michigan football shows up and gets a win, the ship can be righted just like that.

There are tough games that remain on the schedule before Ohio State, but there are no games like a trip to the 13th-ranked team in the country, which is what Michigan faces Saturday.

In the Big Ten East race, it’s a vital game. The Wolverines are a game behind the Hoosiers and Ohio State, but if Michigan can win this game, it would basically control its own destiny again in the Big Ten East, assuming Michigan State doesn’t win out and beat Ohio State.

So everything is still on the table for the Wolverines and it’s possible we will look back at the MSU game as a one off — one bad performance. Or maybe it was the start of a downward trend for this team and its head coach.

What will happen Saturday? We take a stab with five bold predictions for the Hoosiers and Wolverines.
