2. Open up the offense

Even in the Minnesota win, Michigan’s offense still looked somewhat predictable. The Wolverines just executed better than they did against Michigan State. Of course, that could have been because the Gophers defense isn’t very good and the Spartans have a good one.

Either way, the Wolverines need to open up the offense more and let their players use their talent. Blake Corum is a speedster but he has gotten so few touches we haven’t really been able to see it in action.

But what is even more shocking is the lack of downfield throws from Joe Milton. He has a cannon for an arm, and while he hasn’t been the most accurate, why not try and take some shots deep?

It could be because of the lack of time the offensive line is giving him, but still, it is somewhat shocking how little they have tried to go deep.

The Wolverines have put together some nice drives, but chunk plays can really change a game and outside of Zach Charbonnet’s 70-yard touchdown run in their win against Minnesota, we haven’t seen any from Michigan.

Indiana has a good offense, but they haven’t been as explosive this year yet. Michigan needs to try and get those chunk plays and put pressure on them to keep up. Get ahead and take the momentum.

The Hoosiers aren’t going to be afraid of the Wolverines, but a sense of here we go again can creep in if Michigan can put that pressure on them early. The only way to do that is by opening up the offense.
