Running Backs – B-

I am not sure if Derrick Henry could have a good day rushing with the way Michigan’s offensive line played yesterday. The running backs actually did a decent job of getting yards when they had anywhere to run. The problem was they didn’t have that very often.

I think the bigger problem is how they are being used and subbed. Michigan has a bunch of good backs, so they have decided to use them all. That is great to keep them fresh but always keeps them from getting in a groove.

Hassan Haskins looked great during one drive but then we rarely saw him get a chance again. Blake Corum looked explosive running around the Spartan defense for the Wolverines first touchdown but got five total carries.

Overall the running backs had 22 carries for 93 yards. Not a great average, but again a lot of times they were swallowed up before they even had a chance to go anywhere and that falls on the offenseive line.
