Time for the big names to show up

A lot of Michigan football fans want to blame the coaching staff and there’s a fair amount of blame to go around, but one of the biggest issues was that the best players on this team didn’t show up.

In two games, Aidan Hutchinson, who was getting hyped as a Joey-Bosa type, has been vastly underwhelming. He has zero sacks and essentially made no impact Saturday, except for a shoestring tackle. Sorry, but that’s not All-Big Ten caliber play — not even close.

Kwity Paye also didn’t do a heck of a whole lot and while he at least had a big game against Minnesota, it’s shocking how small Paye and Hutchinson came up Saturday as the Wolverines failed to register a single sack on Lombardi.

Daxton Hill is another guy that needs to start making game-changing plays. Obviously, he was covering outside a lot, but in two years, he hasn’t made many plays that make you go wow, that’s why he was a five-star recruit.

This defense misses Ambry Thomas badly, but there are dudes, at least guys we thought were dudes. Now, I’m not so sure, because none of Michigan’s so-called impact players have made much of an impact in two games.
