Michigan has more speed, plain and simple

Michigan’s offense impressed a lot of people last week, including former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer who said the Wolverines are now running a true spread system.

That’s exciting to hear and this week, I really expect the speed-in-space offense to ramp up and Michigan State is going to have a hard time keeping up.

The one thing we didn’t really see last week was the wide receivers making big plays. Ronnie Bell broke a couple of nice plays late, while Roman Wilson, Giles Jackson, Erick All and A.J. Henning all had moments. Yet, we still didn’t see many of those truly explosive plays in the passing game.

This week, we will. Michigan State only gave up 170 yards passing a week ago, however, it allowed 63 percent completions against Rutgers, so Milton should have a field day. His receivers will too.

And the speed won’t just kill Michigan State on one side of the ball.

Daxton Hill, if he plays, Michael Barrett and others will terrorize the Spartans on defense too. The talent gap is real and so is the difference in team speed.
