Joe Milton more than looked the part.

Arguably the most important piece to the puzzle played flawlessly on day one as a starter. Milton finished the night with a commendable 225 yards through the air, while adding 50 plus more with his legs. He didn’t turn the ball over and did what you want your leader to do at the quarterback position.

Within his 15 completions, Milton willingly spread the wealth around to nine different receivers. Josh Gattis put his shiny new toy in good position all night to maximize his chances with the rock in his hands. It really highlighted the rushing attack as a significant strength with an impressive 253 yards gained on the ground.

Milton appeared comfortable in the pocket and never got rattled in the moment. He showcased himself to be a capable signal caller who can be counted on as the season advances.

It’s a vision that Michigan football fans have been beyond eager to see for what feels like an eternity now. Moving onward with a manageable schedule, the sky may be the limit for the talented junior flamethrower.
