The advantage at QB

Led by Morgan, Minnesota should have a very talented offense in 2020 and he’s the biggest reason to be concerned going into this matchup.

That’s not to discount Rashod Bateman, who is a big part of this conversation too, but it’s going to take more than a big night from Bateman to beat the Wolverines.

Mohammed Ibrahim is another name to watch at running back and Chris Autman-Bell is another skilled pass catcher. This offense was fourth in yards per game last year in the Big Ten and returns a majority of starters, plus the quarterback, so disrupting Morgan will be essential.

If that doesn’t happen though, Morgan could have a big night and even though everyone expects a big season from Joe Milton, it’s asking a lot of him to out play Morgan in his first career start.

The onus will then be on the defense to make Morgan look as average as possible by trying to make the Gophers one dimensional and punishing him for standing in the pocket. Otherwise, it could be a tough opening night for the Wolverines.
