Dax Hill will do something special

Outside of J.J. McCarthy in the 2021 class, one of the Michigan’s biggest recruiting wins in recent years was landing Daxton Hill, a former five-star recruit.

Last season, he was solid, not spectacular as a freshman as he learned the college game but as the season wore on, especially with his game against Indiana you could see the light come on.

Now, I fully expect Hill to be among Michigan’s best defenders, right there with Paye and Hutchinson. He can cover, he has elite speed, he’s a great tackler and I’m hoping we’ll see him in the slot a lot, a la Charles Woodson. Harbaugh even said he was the best player on the team.

The bottom line is that with the way Michigan recruits, it has more talent than most programs it will face and it’s the more talented team in this matchup. But that won’t mean anything if guys like Hill don’t step up and shine in these moments and Saturday, I think he’ll have his best game yet.
