Pass rushers will wreak havoc

There’s no denying that Tanner Morgan of Minnesota is a very good quarterback, in fact, outside of Justin Fields, I’d say he is the second-best passer in the Big Ten heading into 2020.

He threw 30 touchdown passes last season and while he did lose wide receiver Tyler Johnson to the NFL, the Gophers still have plenty of weapons, so a huge key to winning this game is going to be hitting Morgan eary and often.

Cue Kwity Paye, Aidan Hutchinson and the Michigan pass rush.

It’s true that Minnesota returns all five starters on the offensive line from a year ago, but even then, the Gophers ranked eighth in the Big Ten in sacks allowed at 2.3 per game.

So this offensive line can be had, especially since Michigan boasts a pair of first-round caliber defensive ends. Chris Hinton and Carlo Kemp should also be effective rushing inside.

And you know Don Brown will be blizing linebackers and defensive backs like crazy. That’s who he is and he’s going to bring pressure, although my hope is we see more four-man rush packages because that will mean the front four is getting enough pressure on its own.
