What’s the ceiling and the floor for Michigan Football in 2020?
There are a number of varying opinions on what Michigan football can be this season, so here’s a look at the ceiling and the floor of the Wolverines in 2020.
After such a long wait, it’s hard to believe that Michigan football is taking the field in just three days at Minnesota.
It will be the start of probably the strangest season in Michigan football history as the Wolverines will embark on a nine-game schedule, with the first eight games already on the slate.
The ninth game is determined by the regular season. If Michigan wins the Big Ten East, it would obviously go to the Big Ten title game, otherwise, it will face a crossover opponent from the Big Ten West.
But as we get ready to start the 2020 campaign, I wondered what Michigan is truly capable of doing this season?
It’s really hard to know for a number of different reasons. For one, the Wolverines didn’t have spring ball and they haven’t played a game since last January.
Of course, that’s the same for a number of programs, but Michigan is also breaking in a new starting quarterback, as well as four new starters on the offensive line.
One possible advantage could be the fact that the Wolverines kept practicing, even when others didn’t after the Big Ten originally postponed the fall season.
Hopefully that continuity will give U-M and advantage and if you believe Harbaugh, this team is really close. Players have been saying that too.
Will it make a difference in the end? It’s hard to say, but here’s a look at what the floor looks like this season for Michigan football, as well as the ceiling.
