CB Benjamin St-Juste

Michigan football fans should be very familiar with Benjamin St-Juste as he was a part of Michigan Football’s 2017 recruiting class as a 4-star prospect from Montreal. He was a graduate transfer to Minnesota before the 2019 season and made an impact on the field immediately for the Gophers.

St-Juste led the Minnesota defense in pass breakups with 10, so he is primed to improve upon that as possibly the top defensive back returning after several departures from Minnesota’s defense including 2019 second round NFL draft selection Antoine Winfield Jr.

It will be interesting to see how the big-bodied corner handles the small, shifty receivers that Michigan football will largely deploy this season.

Josh Gattis may attempt to get the ball out quickly to the perimeter to make St-Juste more of an open-field tackler.

This will be another interesting matchup on the outside to watch as Michigan’s bevy of young, talented pass catchers have a chance to exploit St-Juste’s height and length — as long as they can catch the football first.
