Eric Dailey

School: IMG Academy

Ranking: 25th overall (4-star)

Eric Dailey is another IMG Academy prospect that Juwan Howard is really making a push for. Dailey is a 6’7 wing and is in my opinion, one of the most versatile prospects in the class.

If you watch any highlight of Dailey, the first thing that will jump out at you is how physically gifted he is. He’s 6’7 215 and is athletic as well. He’s a guy that will make a highlight reel dunk in transition and then hit a deep three on the next possession. He does it all.

His ball handling and his defense both need some work, but Dailey is a guy who is just scratching the surface of the player that he can eventually become.

Juwan Howard is doing a really nice job in this recruitment and has shown that he is making Dailey a priority. He spoke about this with 247Sports last month:

"“Michigan is recruiting me the hardest for sure,” he said. “I probably talk to coach Howard once a week. We just have conversations about being a black man in America. We don’t even talk about basketball all the time. We sometimes talk about things going on in the world. It’s like having another person to talk to. He talks to me as family, a mentor, and just more than a coach. I will take a visit this year if corona lets me.”"

He also spoke about his relationship with Michigan in another interview with Rivals:

"“I like Michigan. Having [son of Michigan head coach Juwan Howard] Jett [Howard] on my team helps that. It helps me be familiar with Michigan and comfortable. That’s a good connection to have. Also, they have a pro coaching them. He’s been where I’m trying to go.”"

Dailey is in no rush to make a decision. He told Rob Cassidy of Rivals that he’s still getting offers and it probably won’t be until his senior year when he’s ready to commit.

Even if he’s not close to making a decision yet, if I had to guess right now, Michigan basketball would be in the top three for Dailey along with Florida and Texas A&M. With Michigan recruiting him the hardest, and Dailey wanting to take a visit, The Wolverines are in a great spot early in his recruitment process.
