Giles Jackson will lead Wolverines in receiving

This might be the most bold of all these predictions, but since Giles Jackson arrived on campus, I had a feeling he was going to be a different kind of player and we saw glimpses last season.

As a freshman, he returned a kickoff for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and also scored a rushing touchdown against Ohio State. He only caught nine passes last season, yet he averaged 15.9 yards per catch and remember, Ronnie Bell caught just eight balls in 2018 before 48 last year.

And since Bell is the top wideout back on the roster, he will likely see more attention. He may also play more on the outside. Don’t get me wrong, Bell is going to be right there with Giles, but I see Giles developing as the top pass-catching playmaker in 2020.

And much of the terror he inflicts on opposing defenses will be after the catch. Gattis will find a bunch of ways to get him the football and if not, he’s legally insane because Jackson may just be the most dynamic player on the Wolverines offense.
