Chris Evans will hit 1,000 rushing/receiving

Outside of Charbonnet and Milton, the most exciting player on Michigan football’s offense this season might just be running back Chris Evans.

Evans missed last season due to academics, but in his three seasons with the Wolverines, he racked up over 2,000 yards of total offense and averaged 5.7 yards per rush on some 300 attempts, as well as 9.8 yards per reception.

That might be why Evans is seeing his name pop up in mock drafts and even why he was listed as a top-50 draft prospect. He can run, he can catch and he’s dynamic in open space.

Perhaps no one on the roster benefits more from the addition of Josh Gattis. Evans was grossly misused when Pep Hamilton and Harbaugh were calling plays and that won’t be the case this year.

Rushing attempts will be limited, but I expect Evans to get between 10-15 touches a game between rushing attempts and receptions. I think he will get around 500 yards as a rusher/receiver and will push for 1,000 total by the end of the bowl game.
