Auburn Tigers

Ask around and see how many people like Auburn. Obviously, their fans will say yes, but there probably aren’t many other fans that would say yes.

The Tigers are an easy team to hate. They are in the SEC which other conference fans hate. They are normally pretty good, which again can bring the hate. And they also play in one of the best rivalries in all of college football, but we still hate hearing about it.

This would be a matchup of the Wolverines fans getting to beat one of those teams you just hate. Plus they have only played twice and they were both in bowl games.

The Wolverines won the most recent matchup in 2001 but lost in 1984. Michigan won a close 31-28 game in the Citrus Bowl, while the Tigers won a 9-7 snooze fest in New Orleans.

The biggest draw, though, to this game is getting an SEC school to actually travel north. It has happened but rarely for the best teams. Florida is allergic to playing north of Kentucky and I can’t remember the last time Alabama played a true road non-conference game, better yet in Big 10 country.

The Wolverines have played Alabama more recently and more often so getting Auburn to come up would be better. What would make this even better, is if they schedule the game in November. Make the Tigers come up and play in cold weather.

The Big 10 always has to play the SEC in bowl games in warm weather. Let’s see how they do in the cold. This would make for a great game and one that everyone in the country would be interested to see how they handle cold weather.

Could the SEC actually win when the temperature dips? It would be interesting to see. We need to get an SEC on the Wolverines schedule and we need to do it in a cold month. What better team to do that then the Tigers?
