USC Trojans

The Wolverines have played the Trojans 10 times, but eight of those were in the Rose Bowl. They played a home and home series, but it was all the way back in 1957 and 1958. Needless to say, a lot of us don’t remember those games or were even alive then they happened.

The Wolverines are 4-6 lifetime against the Trojans, with their last win happening way back in the 1989 Rose Bowl. It is their only win in the last 10 matchups against USC. So again it has been a while since we have seen the Wolverines beat the Trojans.

It is great playing in the Rose Bowl and even with the College Football Playoff, there is still that mystique to the game. But wouldn’t it be fun to get the Trojans away from California and into the Big House?

Michigan football is no stranger to playing PAC-12 teams at home as they have played Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, and UCLA in the Big House. But it has been a long time since the Trojans have ventured east.

USC is in the same boat as Michigan right now. Trying to get back to their glory days but struggling to get over the hump. Even with the struggles at times, both of these teams still have a very strong name appeal and this would be a marquee matchup.

This would be a fun matchup and one we would love to see in the regular season. Michigan is willing to schedule west coast teams. It’s about time they get the Trojans on the schedule.
