Is another 2022 commitment on the way?

Offensive line coach Ed Warinner could be adding another commitment to his offensive line and the first of the 2022 class after three-star recruit Sullivan Weidman visited this weekend.

Weidman is a 6-foot-6 offensive tackle from Massachusetts and while he’s not a four-star prospect or anything, he’s ranked in the top 500 (437th) according to the 247 composite.

The Wolverines offered him back in the spring and have maintained contact with him throughout the dead period. And this weekend, Weidman took a self-guided visit to Ann Arbor, which prompted EJ Holland of Rivals to project his commitment ($) to the Wolverines.

However, Holland said there will be some deliberations on Michigan’s side about whether to take Weidman in the 2021 class before accepting a commitment. Here’s what he wrote:

"“I strongly believe U-M can land him if it wants to. With all of this said, I believe Weidman is a guy that they would like to further evaluate before accepting a commitment.”"

Boston College is in the mix and a slew of other schools have offered in the past month. But it sounds like this one is up to the Wolverines.

If they want Weidman, it sounds like they will be abe to get a commitment in relatively short order, so this will all be about their evaluation. But it would seem strange for a kid to visit, if he there was that big a question mark., so I wouldn’t be shocked if he was the next pledge in the class of 2022.
