Michigan Football: 5 Realistic predictions for Joe Milton in 2020
What about Ohio State and the record?
As a quarterback for Michigan football, Milton will be definied by how he plays against Ohio State. There is zero question about that. Just look at Shea Patterson and John Navarre.
They are basically the same guy, with similar careers, except Navarre beat Ohio State, once in three tries as a starter and Patterson went 0-2.
Unfortunately, Milton’s first start against Ohio State won’t be easy. He will be squaring off against Fields and a team many expect to reach the College Football Playoff.
One benefit for Milton is that the game in Columbus will have very limited fans, so the atmosphere will be different, however, the immense pressure will be there. We will see how he handles it.
I have a feeling that Milton will play well against Ohio State and show something that gives fans hope going into 2021. Yes, no one wants to hear about moral victories, but it’s a process at quarterback and I can’t see him beating Fields in a couple of months,
If he lives up to the hype and is as good as all the reports, then there is certainly hope. And I do think Michigan will be 6-1 or 7-0 going into that game, meaning it could be for the East title.
Like in 2018, I think Michigan will end up losing and my prediction for nine games is 7-2, plus a pretty good bowl, at least better than the Outback.
