Is Joe Milton finally the answer?

The Joe Milton hype train is seriously picking up steam and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about Michigan football’s new starting quarterback.

But, looking back, there was hype surrounding Shea Patterson, Brandon Peters, Wilton Speight and also Dylan McCaffrey. Speight was solid before he got hurt in his second year and Patterson won 19 games in two years, including 10 in a row.

Yet, neither helped Michigan reach Indy, beat Ohio State or win the Big Ten championship. Milton may not be able to do those things either, but it’s obvious that the excitement, even from the coaches and receivers is palpable.

If Milton can come even close to living up to the hype, then finally, Michigan football might have the answer at quarterback. But until we actually see it, Milton is still a question mark.
