Michigan Football: Ranking 2020 opponents by difficulty

3. @ Minnesota – October 24th

Playing Minnesota the first game of the year is no easy task. The Golden Gophers are coming off their best season in years and finished with a huge bowl win over Auburn. They have a ton of confidence and think this is the year they take back the Little Brown Jug.

The Wolverines will be breaking in new quarterback Joe Milton and he will need to be sharp from the very beginning. The offense looked good after the first quarter of the Penn State game last year, but they need to get it going quicker if they want to win this game.

Minnesota is waiting to see if star receiver Rashod Bateman will be cleared to play after he originally opted out of the season. If he returns it will be a huge boost for the Golden Gophers who lost leading receiver Tyler Johnson to the NFL.

Quarterback Tanner Morgan is back and was very efficient last year and will look to do the same this year and will be a huge test for the Wolverines right off the bat. This should be a good game and one that should give us an idea of how good Michigan is right off the bat.
