Check out an insane play by Michigan football commit, Xavier Worthy, plus another 2021 wideout sets a decision date.

Of all the Michigan football commitments in the class of 2021, wide receiver Xavier Worthy might be the most exciting.

That’s hard to say when the Wolverines have a verbal pledge from five-star quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who many believe is going to be the quarterback to lead U-M to the promised land.

But when you are talking about the speed-in-space offense of offensive coordinator Josh Gattis, it takes athletes to pull off and Michigan football is getting a remarkable one in Worthy.

Just watch this and imagine speed in space:

Worthy takes the kickoff and returns it for a score. He even notes on his tweet that it looks sped up. Nope, Worthy is just that fast and that’s why some feel he should be a five-star recruit.

Currently, Worthy is ranked as the No. 70 prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and is the 11th-best wide receiver. He plans to enroll early at Michigan and it’s going to be really fun to watch him and McCarthy playing together down the road.

Worthy is also the kind of athlete Michigan needs to beat teams like Ohio State. Now, hopefully Jim Harbaugh and company can add Donovan Edwards to the mix.

Wide receiver target in 2021 sets decision date

In other news regarding the 2021 recruiting class, Jayden Thomas, who was at one time a top target for Michigan football, announced he will make his decision on Friday.

Unfortunately, for Michigan fans, a decision this soon by Thomas isn’t a good sign and probably signals a commitment to Notre Dame.

Thomas had genuine interest in the Wolverines and was looking to play both football and baseball. U-M was open to that and the baseball staff really liked Thomas.

But then the commitment of wide receiver Andrel Anthony, as well as Worthy gave Michigan four wide receivers in the 2021 class before Markus Allen decommitted.

When the group was at four, Michigan still kept in contact with Thomas and sent him an official scholarship offer, but it seems like things have died down.

Both of the crystal ball picks out there for Thomas have him going to Notre Dame and there doesn’t seem to be any reason to think otherwise.

And since Thomas appeared to be the most likely target at receiver, unless someone new emerges, U-M will take just three.
