Michigan football will now play Minnesota in less than a month and before starting camp next week, here’s a prediction of the defensive starters.

While Michigan football will be forced to sit through another weekend without watching the Wolverines, the day is coming soon and now, it’s less than a month away.

That Oct. 24 game against Minnesota can’t get here soon enough. The excitement is more palpable than usual after believing we wouldn’t get a season this fall.

As far as Michigan football, things get more real next week as practice starts Sept. 30. The Wolverines have been working out, but fall camp is about to happen for real over the next few weeks.

In terms of playing time, there is still a lot to be decided. On Thursday, we examined what the offensive depth chart could look like heading into 2020 and now, we are going to shift the focus to the defensive side of the ball.

Like on offense, the Wolverines will have to replace some key starters and contributors. On the defensive line, Josh Uche and Mike Danna are NFL-caliber pass rushers who are gone.

In the secondary, Lavert Hill graduated and Ambry Thomas, who was supposed to be a starter this year, has declared for the draft and doesn’t appear to be coming back.

U-M also graduated starters Jordan Glasgow and Khaleke Hudson at linebacker. There are holes to fill each year in college football and looking forward, there are reasons to be excited about this defense and here’s a look at who could be starting Week one.
