Josh Gattis will ramp up speed-in-space

Looking back, it was probably foolish of us to expect Josh Gattis to be able to implement his offensive system and get it humming in just one year.

Michigan had a lot of talented pieces, there is no debate about that, but not all of them fit the way Gattis wants to play. The Wolverines needed more speed and more guys with quickness.

Cue Giles Jackson.

The speedster from California scored a kick return touchdown, caught a touchdown and ran for a touchdown, which he did against Ohio State. He was made for this offense and he will have a breakout season.

But he’s not going to be the only one. Running back Chris Evans will shine under Gattis and his pass-catching skills will offer something unique and different to the offense.

Roman Wilson, Cornelius Johnson, A.J. Henning and Mike Sainristil have all had positive reports this offseason and Ronnie Bell should continue to be a catch machine.

I don’t want to get into numbers or anything like that, I just believe the offense will look as good as or better than it did in the second half of last season, which is why, again, I think winning six of seven to start is very possible.
